Life Coach, Counsellor: What’s The Difference?
Life coach, counsellor. The two terms are often switched, but there is an important distinction.
Life Coaches motivate, offer emotional support and create confidence in their clients. Counselling looks to emotional resolution to past problems in order to move forward.
A Life Coach will look at where you are at now and look forward to where you want to be and help you take the steps to get there. Counselling will look more to your past and to the underlying causes of a problem.
It’s not always straightforward to totally future focus as there may well be limitations and obstacles created in your past that are still playing out in your life today.
A Life Coach with additional qualifications such as NLP can take the role of future focussing and resolution of the past, effectively then being Life Coach and Counsellor.
I am a solution-focused therapist. A Life Coach and Master NLP Practitioner, looking forward to resolution.
If there is anything preventing you from moving forward, such as limiting beliefs or childhood/past wounds, I can assist you with this to achieve resolution.
